Community Prayer and Information Meeting for Haiti – North Lousiana

This is going out to Christian radio stations in the Monroe/West Monroe, LA area today. Please help get the word out about this if you are in and around the north Louisiana area.

“Only an hour and half flight off the coast of the United States, Haiti, the poorest country in the western hemisphere, has suffered a natural disaster of catastrophic proportion. An earthquake like the one that took place on January 12th would shatter even the most stable place, but in Haiti, a country were 80% of the population struggles to survive under the poverty line, most living on less than 2 dollars a day, there is simply nothing to take up the shock; no stockpile of wealth, education, or government capability to pad the impact.

Our community and surrounding area has friends and family that have been directly impacted by the earthquake in Haiti. Even if you don’t have direct ties to Haiti, as Christian’s, literally the hands and feet of Christ, we simply cannot allow this catastrophe to drift off of the front-burner of our concern. The opportunities to give financially and physically are great and we are each called to do our part; starting with prayer for the outpouring of God’s love, mercy, and healing on the nation of Haiti.

This Sunday, January 17th from 3-4pm, in conjunction with Community Prayer Partners, Cedar Crest Baptist Church on Arkansas Road in West Monroe is opening its doors to allow people in the surrounding area to come together and corporately lift the up the plight of Haiti in prayer. There will be opportunities to share details regarding known needs of prayer, service and giving, as well as, relief efforts being coordinated in this area. Please join us, as we join together, for a time of prayerful intercession on behalf of our brothers and sisters in Haiti. For more information please contact Cedar Crest Baptist Church at 318-396-4953 or email Jason Hyatt at jason_hyatt@yahoo.com. Matthew 25:35 – For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.”
